Anni Rastas (she/they) works as a technical assistant at the CSSM, supporting the centre in communications, research practices and administration. Throughout her anthropology studies in Scotland and Finland, Anni has focused on ethnography of more-than-human lifeworlds and political ecologies. She completed her Master’s degree in the University of Helsinki and her undergraduate degree in the University of Aberdeen. In her Master’s thesis, she investigated the embodied, affective and political bird-human relations of observation, care and conservation in a Finnish urban environment. Through working as an assistant in multiple research projects and in a science policy organisation, Anni has gotten to dive into the diversity of research practices and cultures as well as the ways of bridging the gap between academic and other vital ways of knowing.
