Mikko Jauho is University Researcher at the Centre for Consumer Society Research at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki. He is docent/Adjunct Professor in Sociology at the University of Tampere. Working at the interfaces of Science and Technology Studies, Governmentality Studies, and Sociologies of Health and Illness, Food, and Consumption, his research focuses on the political government and everyday practices of health and wellbeing, utilizing both contemporary and historical approaches and research materials. In the context of CSSM, he will be i) studying the evolving field of consumer products which harness and commercialize the potentialities of microbes and other natural entities; and ii) developing the notion of microbiopolitics as a post-Foucauldian concept.
